A very warm welcome to the BOURNE CC web-site where you can get all the upto date news about the club.
2009 has started positively and with enthusiasm for the challenges ahead. We have taken two new initiatives for the year and we hope that all players and followers will support these in our quest to increase our regular income by £4,000 per annum. Despite Mr. Darling's budget we have REDUCED our bar prices FOR A TRIAL PERIOD in the hope that this will attract more players and their families to the club on a regular basis. We have purchased a large screen TV for the Clubhouse and together with an installed Wii are prepared to give it a try. Please support this initiative.
To assist with this we also have a full schedule of Friday evening matches on the Abbey Lawn - all the way through to the end of July. Weather permitting there will be cricket on the Abbey Lawn every Friday, Saturday and Sunday so whatever your commitments please drop in for free entertainment.
Just to remind everyone that the "big event" this season is the visit of the Lord's Taverners on Sunday September 6th. Chris Tarrant will be captaining the team and once celebrities are known they will be announced in the local press and on the web site.
Ian Greenfield is producing lots of excellent action photos that can be viewed and purchased - there is a good selection on the web site - just click on COMMUNITY AND THEN PHOTO GALLERY.
If you are interested in joining us please contact club captain David Christmas on 07764-689004 - or Hedley Stroud 01778-423796
We look forward to hearing from you
